Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree designed to attract foreign specialists and financing into Uzbekistan in sectors in which the country currently has a gap. This measure is part of a response to address systemic flaws and problems that hinder the flow of qualified labor and financial resources into the country. The decree will significantly reduce necessary paperwork for highly-qualified foreign specialists, extend maximum periods for which they can legally reside in Uzbekistan and make it easier for their families to reside in the country with them. Additionally, personal income tax rates for highly-qualified specialist foreigners have been reduced to half of their previous level. <\/span><\/p>\n
