The discussion centers around whether Big Data (which does not contain personal data per say but could potentially be further processed to determine individual data points) should be treated as a good or greatly restricted (as personal data is). The end result of this discussion is expected to have serious repercussions for Russia\u2019s economy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The text of the amendments is clear that Big Data should not be considered the same as personal data; however, there are also discussions around how to regulate the further processing of such data that could identify individuals.
