Currently, most PFM systems are focused on simply showing numbers to customers. To stand out, however, they should provide customers with actionable analytics that influence customer behavior in positive financial ways as well as provide them with individualized offerings. This is best accomplished through data integration and aggregation (made possible via open banking and API-based accesses). While PFM is still in its relative infancy, its importance (to both customers and financial institutions) should not be overlooked.
