Here\u2019s a quick look at how biometric identification is being used in a few areas of the world:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Canada<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 Canadian startup Securekey Technologies Inc. launched a verified biometric identification system (Verified.Me) in 2017. Thanks to this system, Canadians can now access banking services, view medical records, insure themselves, buy household appliances and use government services without leaving their homes.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Estonia <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013 Estonia was an early adopter of remote identification systems, with the first appearing in 2002. In 2017, the Smart-ID appeared in the country, allowing users to access internet banking, insurance, state and commercial services, retirement accounts, health services and educational platforms via a mobile application.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Australia<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 the development of the Govpass system began in the mid-2010s, resulting in users being able to authenticate on the website of government organizations and enterprises after pre-registering.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>New Zealand<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 New Zealand created the digital platform RealMe, which allows citizens to access data from medical records to drivers\u2019 licenses after registering in the system.
