The Board of the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan has adopted amendments to the resolution ‘On Electronic Money’ that prohibit the replenishment of electronic wallets (e-wallets), prepaid cards and/or virtual prepaid cards from the personal accounts of other services, including mobile phone balances. The decision means that the replenishment of electronic wallets can only occur via:
- Transfer from a bank account
- Transfer from an electronic wallet, prepaid card and/or virtual prepaid card
- Transfer made via a money transfer system registered with the National Bank
- Automated self-service cash-in terminals
- Agents of a commercial bank and/or payment institution
