According to a recent study by Mckinsey and Company, the value of metaverse is expected to reach USD 5 trillion by 2030, including e-commerce (USD 2–2.6 trillion), virtual learning (USD 180–270 billion), advertising (USD 144–206 billion) and gaming (USD 108–125 billion). The metaverse is envisaged as an end state that incorporates all digital worlds and the physical world, enabling interoperability between them all. Many believe that metaverse will be the successor to the mobile internet and provide users with immersive experiences that can be centralized or decentralized.
