The London Office for Rapid Cybersecurity Advancement (LORCA) has opened in East London. The center, which will be run by the technology innovation center Plexal, was opened with the intentions of helping cybersecurity startups in the United Kingdom grow and establishing the country as a global leader in combatting online threats. Specifically, the center will work with those that specialize in artificial intelligence, augmented reality and the internet of things. For FinTechs and financial institutions, this means that the expertise of LORCA can be put to use in order to ensure that FinTech services are secure and come with minimal cyber-risks.
Experts lauded the opening of the center, noting that, because Britain’s future prosperity is likely to be based on digital technology, expanding the cybersecurity sector now is critical.
