Tajikistani National Bank issues licenses to payment system operators

The National Bank of Tajikistan has issued three-year licenses to several international (Visa International, MasterCard, UnionPay and Western Union) and one national (Corti Milli) payment system operators. A license gives operators the right to operate on the territory of Tajikistan within the requirements of the Law on Payment Services and Payment Systems as well as the Law on Countering the Legalization of Criminally Obtained Incomes and the Financing of Terrorism.

The granting of the licenses is part of the National Bank’s overall effort to increase the share of non-cash payments in the country.
