lifecell building IoT infrastructure in Ukraine

Mobile operator lifecell has begun building the first segment of its internet of things (IoT) project in Ukraine, making use of LoRaWAN technology to do it. LoRaWAN is a data transmission technology that covers a large area and allows for fast data transfer between gadgets. The first stage of the project envisages covering Kiev. To this end, the first 40 base stations are expected to cover more than 90% of the city’s territory and will enable 200,000 devices to be connected. During the first stage, online solutions for a smart city, logistics services, environmental monitoring and smart homes will be tested.

lifecell believes that the spread of the latest technology in Ukraine will trigger a dynamic development of digitalization and create a modern ecosystem on a national scale. As such, they are working to build a national network to serve as the backbone of IoT in Ukraine.
