Tags Payments Regulation
Since June, payment terminals have fulfilled the conditions of the National Bank of Tajikistan and can once again be used to replenish e-wallets. The main condition of the National Bank was the transparency of the conversion to the account being replenished. When replenishing the balance of an e-wallet, customers will now see the conversion of his/her currency (at the National Bank’s rate) into dollars and rubles. Another requirement was the establishment of a single commission, which now stands at 10% of the total amount replenished.
The most popular e-wallets in the country are QIWI, Yandex and Webmoney; they are mainly used to pay for goods and services over the internet as well as for transferring money to bank accounts or cards. The replenishment of e-wallets at payment terminals was not possible in Tajikistan for a period of four months.
