Venture Capital Markets in the Caucasus and Central Asia Are Growing Fast

The venture capital market in the Central Asia and Caucasus (CCA) region is experiencing rapid growth, outpacing Nordic countries by 5.5 times in recent years. Key research partners including RISE Research, EA Group Holding and BGlobal Ventures, with support from Crunchbase and the Kazakhstan Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry. Significant increases in investments are particularly notable within early-stage funding initiatives in Azerbaijan, Georgia and Kazakhstan. In total, venture investments exceeded USD 110 million in the region in 2023. Kazakhstan has seen the highest growth, with investment volumes exceeding USD 80 million. Efforts in the region include developing IT parks and economic zones to further support this burgeoning ecosystem. Despite this surge, the market remains relatively small, suggesting potential for further growth.
